Steatite has high dielectric strength over a wide temperature range with moisture absorption of less than 1%. Common applications are: Heating Element Holders, Stand-Off Insulators, Washers, and Bushings. CORDIERITE: Is a refractory material that has excellent thermal shock resistance, low thermal expansion with medium to high temperature capabilities. Common applications are: Element supports, Feed-Thru Insulators, and many Specialty Furnace Shapes. PORCELAIN: Is an economical vitreous ceramic used for a variety of electrical purposes with low to medium temperature capability. It is resistant to most chemicals and can be glazed or unglazed. Common applications are: Electrical Sockets & Bases, Decorative Knobs. Porcelain is particularly suited for complex shapes.
